    "Black and White with Colors" is the coloring book of the Marubi Museum; it's also the title of the workshops where we shed light and color on the black and white images of the Marubi archive authors. As every year-end, part of this activity involves 9th-grade students. This year, the talented students from the non-public 9-year school "Miqësia" joined us, conveying a warm and festive atmosphere through colors and shapes.

    The workshop was part of the program of 'Written with light' developed during the end-of-year festivities.

    On the National Cultural Heritage Day, there was organized a workshop with crafts in the traditional embroidery of some of the images from the Manaki Brothers' exhibition, with special attention to the diversity of ethnographic elements in their images. The workshop was led by Esmerilda Herovi, the textile teacher at the artistic high school "Prenkë Jakova," who explained the participants the techniques of handmade embroideries and assisted them during various stages of the work.

    The photo reportage educational ateliers consist of a series of workshops based on Michel Setboun's exhibition "The photoreporter at the right time, in the right place," which features images of Albania from the 1980s to 1991, including the collapse of the regime and other related events.

    These sessions with high school and university students encourage reflection on the communist past while fostering event analysis and critical thinking.

    A series of workshops conceived as treasure hunt throughout the city aiming to discover buildings and monuments we encounter daily but have lost their original functions or have been completely abandoned.
    Participants are shown old photographs from the Marubi archive in order to reconnect with the history of the city and sensitize about the importance of heritage care and preservation.
    This time they discovered some traces related to events and personalities involved in the Albanian Independence.

    For the museum it is important to use cultural heritage as a way to approach communities who find it difficult to access the museum. The workshop was organized with students of the Roma community from ‘Liria’ school in Shkodra offering them the opportunity to learn about the Marubi archive and create a photographic backdrop through photo collages, drawings, paintings and sketches. The backdrop is a tribute to the Marubi dynasty and when recreated by children, aims to raise awareness about the legacy of the photography studio.
